Deskifier for v0

Turn your v0 app into a desktop app

v0 builds it and Vercel hosts it. Deskifier ships it to the desktop: signed installers for Mac, Windows and Linux that load your Vercel deployment and pick up every release automatically.

Next.js apps are awkward to put in Electron

The usual Electron guides assume a static site you can bundle into the app. A v0 project is a Next.js app with server components, API routes and server actions: it wants a server. To bundle it you would either run a Node server inside the desktop app or give up those features for a static export.

Deskifier takes the simpler route. Your app keeps running on Vercel, with every server feature intact, and the desktop app loads it. You get the native window, tray, notifications and installers; Vercel keeps doing what it does.

What your v0 app gains

Server features intact
Server components, route handlers and server actions keep running on Vercel. Nothing is rewritten for a static export.
Tray and launch at login
A tray or menu bar icon and background running, for dashboards and tools users keep open all day.
Native notifications
Real OS notifications from your React code through window.deskifier, even while the window is closed.
Deep links
Your own myapp:// links that open the desktop app at the right page, from emails or your website.
Signed installers
Notarised for macOS and Azure-signed for Windows, so users install without a security warning.
Deploy once
Every Vercel deployment reaches desktop users on their next load. The native shell updates itself separately.

v0 app to desktop app in three steps

  1. 1
    Deploy to Vercel
Use your production domain, not a preview URL, so the desktop app follows your releases.
  2. 2
    Design the shell
Window style, icon, tray menu and deep link protocol, set in the Deskifier dashboard.
  3. 3
    Build installers
Try a free dev build, then build signed installers or send builds to the app stores.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The desktop app loads your deployed site, so everything that runs on Vercel runs for desktop users too. There’s no static export step.

Check for window.deskifier on the client. It only exists inside the desktop app, so you can show desktop-only features there and leave the web version unchanged.

Yes. The SDK is a small promise-based JavaScript API, so you can describe what you want and point v0 at the Deskifier docs.

Yes. The app is Chromium with persistent storage, so cookies and sessions behave as they do in Chrome and survive restarts.

Dev builds are free for all three desktops, no card required. You pay per platform when you ship.
